Frequently Asked QuestionS
How is ARIE regulated?
ARIE Finance holds a Payment Intermediary Services License and is regulated by the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius. This regime differs from banking: we do not accept client deposits or lend client funds. Our services and disclosures may vary by jurisdiction, and we will confirm what is available for your business during onboarding.
What's the difference between e-money and a bank deposit?
E-money represents a claim on us for payment services and is safeguarded, not lent out. It doesn't earn interest and is not covered by a deposit guarantee scheme. Bank deposits, by contrast, may be lent by banks and can be covered by deposit insurance depending on the jurisdiction.
Is my money protected if ARIE fails?
Client funds are held in segregated safeguarding accounts with regulated licensed banks. In an insolvency, safeguarded funds are ring-fenced and identified for return to customers, after statutory costs. This is not the same as deposit insurance.
Do you pay interest on balances?
No. E-money balances do not accrue interest or investment returns.
Do you operate in my country?
Availability depends on your entity type, ownership, activities and applicable sanctions and local rules. Share your details with us and we'll confirm coverage and corridors for your business.
Which industries can't you support?
We support major and multi-currency balances and payments (e.g., USD,EUR,GBP) plus selected additional currencies. We'll confirm your needs and eligible corridors during onboarding.
Who can open an account?
Registered business (companies, partnerships, funds, trusts/foundations, management companies) that pass our KYC/KYB checks and fit our risk appetite.
What documents will you need?
Typically: certificate of incorporation/constitution, register of directors/shareholders, IDs and proof of address for UBOs/controllers, corporate structure chart, proof of business activity, and proof/source of funds. Additional items may be requested depending on risk and jurisdiction.
